Lacquer ware

DATA

Acquired: 9 December, 2005
Acquired from: England

Lacquer ware was made as export product to European countries between late 1500 and early 1600.
The black lacquer ware has been decorated with inlayed mother-of-pearl chips. Arabesque designs were used for decoration. The little door in the front is hinged so it opens in the front. The inside has seven drawers centred around the middle arched drawer.
